Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor has advised opposition parties in the state to adopt Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the November 8, 2025 election, to avoid wasting money.
Mefor gave the advice while hosting some members of Anambra Deserves Soludo Solution, led by Dr. Jude Emecheta, in his office at the Jerome Udeorji Secretariat, Awka.
He noted that Anambra indeed deserves Soludo, who has prudently managed the resources of Ndแป Anambra, describing any contest against Soludo as fruitless exercise.
โI urge the opposition parties to come together and adopt Prof. Charles Soludo as the sole candidate for the forthcoming governorship election.
“Although it is the constitutional right of every individual to contest for the governorship of the state, it would be a waste of resources because there is no vacancy in Agu Awka.
“The governor has done fantastically well, and Anambra deserves him. Leaders like him come once in a long while. He has offered prudent management of the resources of Ndi Anambra for which he has won awards.
“Soludo is the only governor in Nigeria whose capital expenditure exceeds that of his recurrent expenditures.
โThe governor spends over 70 per cent on capital projects and 30 per cent on recurrent expenditures; the governor, past and present, to do so. He has built many legacy projects in the state without borrowing a kobo. This is a mark of judicious management of resources.
“Those aspiring to contest against Soludo should instead use their resources to develop their various communities, rather than engage in a fruitless exercise,” he said.
In his remarks, leader of the team, Dr Jude Emecheta, explained that the aim of the visit was to brief the commissioner on their activities, adding that they were embarking on a tour of Soludoโs projects across the state to inform Ndi Anambra about the governorโs developmental strides.
