Popular Onitsha-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, has set the social media buzzing with his declaration of interest to contest for Nigeria’s presidency in 2027.
Odumeje, as he is fondly called, made the announcement during a sermon on Sunday, March 9 at the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha.
In his characteristic energetic and dramatic style, Odumeje proclaimed that it was time for him to join politics, emphasizing the urgent need for young and digital-minded leaders to take charge of the nation’s affairs.
According to him, both past and present leaders have failed to move Nigeria forward due to their age and lack of vision. He asserted that the country needs a vibrant, resilient, and forward-thinking leader to usher in real progress.
“We need a young leader in this country, and I think I’m coming out. We need a young leader as a president, a digital leader, not old cargos. Am I sure you hear me? I think I will come out, I will come out for president,” he declared to his congregation.
Turning to his followers, he asked if they would support him in the race. The response was immediate and electrifying—deafening cheers filled the church, with his supporters enthusiastically endorsing the idea of Odumeje becoming Nigeria’s next president.
“Are you ready for me? Odumeje for president? Are you ready for me? Because I know what you need. I know what you want. I want to construct a main road called Citadel for you. I want to give you a modern life, a digital life,” he added, further energizing his audience.
The declaration comes just days after Odumeje made another audacious claim, asserting that he is now the world’s most powerful spiritual figure following the late Prophet TB Joshua.
Speaking during a recent miracle service, the cleric boldly stated that only he and TB Joshua possessed extraordinary spiritual abilities. Now, with Joshua gone, Odumeje insists he is the last remaining spiritual force of such magnitude.
Despite his unorthodox style and controversial persona, the self-styled Indaboski Bahose remains a widely followed religious figure, known for his theatrical miracles, prophetic declarations, and strong influence over his congregation.
While his presidential ambition has drawn excitement from his followers, it has also sparked widespread debate among social media users, with many wondering whether he is serious about entering the race or simply making another dramatic statement. Some have lauded his courage and charisma, suggesting that his unconventional leadership could bring much-needed change, while others remain skeptical about his political credentials.
