A frontline Anambra governorship aspirant under the aegis of the Labour Party, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, has shared his vision and blueprint for the governorship seat with members of the Obidient Movement Stakeholders in Anambra state.
Nwosu, who declared himself a disciple of the Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate election, Mr. Peter Obi, also pledged to work closely with the leadership of the party as well as members of the Obidient Movement in the state, if he emerges as the party’s flag-bearer at its forthcoming primary.
Nwosu made the remarks on Saturday in Awka during an enlarged gathering of members of state executive, local government and other critical stakeholders of the Obidient Movement in Anambra.
Declaring himself an Obidient, Nwosu remarked that the 2025 governorship election in Anambra state would be the next battleground and test case for the Obidient Movement.
He declared Soludo’s first four-year governorship term as Anambra as a failure, hence the need for a more competent leader to replace him. Hear him: “Jointly, we are fighting to salvage Anambra. Our state, under Soludo, is now an eyesore. It is insecure. It has become a fetid dish of crime, criminality and bloodletting. This has to change. Such carnage has to end!
“In 2017, Soludo selfishly stated that “Anambra was not broken, so why fix it?” But karma has an address. Since its creation, Anambra is in its worst possible shape under his leadership. He inherited a broken state and made it worse.
“Under his watch, Anambra has regressed economically due to insecurity. This lack of leadership has also impacted negatively on the entire South East.
“Out of what is locally called ITK- “I too know,” Soludo promised mountains and delivered molehill. He promised us Taiwan and Dubai; and when he failed to deliver, he arrogantly called us illiterates. What’s my point?
“Gov. Soludo has failed. Soludo has to go. Anyone supporting Soludo for a second term does not love Anambra state. We must get involved and secure Anambra once again.”
Mr. John Nwosu, LP Governorship Aspirant addressing Obidient Movement Stakeholders in Awka on March 8, 2025.
“We must constitutionally send Soludo away. We must save Anambra from his disastrous leadership. Theory is not practical. We need practical leadership and Soludo is not offering us that.
“We are in a marathon race to produce a New Nigeria. I believe firmly, that a New Nigeria is imperative and possible! But we must start from home.
There are problems and challenges that are peculiar to Anambra state; and there are challenges that pertain to Nigeria and Africa.
Nwosu proceeded to reel out what he called “Seven Pillars of good governance” which his administration would religiously implement, if elected to power on November 8, 2025.
According to him, Security, Health, Education, Economy, Enterprise, Market, and Social Welfare (SHEEEMS), will be prioritized and he would provide the framework for addressing Anambra’s development challenges.
“We can longer allow Soludo to hoodwink us. Whitewashing Anambra is a fallcy and a ruse. Repainting existing infrastructure built by his predecessors and the federal government is deceitful and mischievous. Where are the developments that represent hard and soft power,?” he asked.
“Prioritization and efficiency are the hallmarks of good governance. And that is what we intend to bring about,” he stressed with a satisfactory smile on his face, amidst thunderous applause from the Obidient Movement Stakeholders before him.
While assuring stakeholders of his readiness to utilize his expertise in ICT to provide a robust architecture for security of lives and property in Anambra state, Nwosu also stressed that his vision was to use human capital development and power for industrialization of Anambra state which, according to him, had been abandoned since Peter Obi left power.
He also promised to run an inclusive government, work with party leadership and members of the Obidient Movement, if elected to power.
He was accompanied by a former Anambra governorship aspirant, Oseloka Henry Obaze, Prof. Zelinjo Igweze and other members of his campaign team.
