The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council in Anambra State has pledged to purchase the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), nomination form for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s re-election bid.

The Anambra State governorship election set to hold on November 8, 2025 with Governor Soludo expected to contest for a second term of four years on the platform of APGA.

During a press briefing in Awka, the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Okoye Matthew Okpara, disclose desire of NANS members in Anambra State to support Governor Soludo in recognition of his exemplary leadership.

Okpara, who also serves as the National Coordinator of the Solution Students Movement of Nigeria, urged Governor Soludo to publicly declare his intention to run for a second term without delay.

He emphasized the need for this declaration, stating that failure to announce his candidacy within the next 30 days would compel the students to stage peaceful protests across major cities in the state, including Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Ekwulobia.

โ€œThe election is just nine months away, and the governor has yet to make his intentions known,โ€ Okpara remarked. โ€œWe, the students of Anambra State, under the auspices of NANS and the Solution Students Movement of Nigeria, are prepared to procure the nomination forms on his behalf. Our goal is to demonstrate our commitment to the welfare of Anambra students and acknowledge the governor’s transformative policies in the state.โ€

He emphasized that the protests, if necessary, would be peaceful and aimed solely at encouraging the governor to articulate his ambitions for a second term. Okpara pointed to programs such as the โ€œOne Youth Two Skillsโ€ acquisition initiative, which has benefitted many students, as evidence of the governor’s dedication to youth development.
