Over 2000 women in Anambra state have endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office ahead of November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
The endorsement came during the 2025 Anambra State Women Summit, convene by the State Women leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, lady Esther Onyekesi.
According to the women, drawn from various background (political, tribe, ethic and religion), the endorsement was to enable the governor complete his ongoing humanitarian and development projects across the 179 communities in the state.

They called on his co- contesters from other political parties to consider stepping down for him (Soludo) so he could actualize his vision 2070 of making Anambra a clean, peaceful, livable and prosperous homeland.
“We are adopting governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as our sole candidate because of his achievements in just two years and eleven months in office.
“Soludo has done tremendously well in all sectors of the economy, particularly, in the health and security sectors. Today, every pregnant woman in Anambra State irrespective of tribe, ethic and religion placement gets free antenatal in any government hospital of her choice.
“Our children are going to school free of charge, we now sleep with our two eyes closed, our youths are being trained and empowered free of charge through the one youth, two skills acquisition programme of the government
“We, the women in the State are calling on his co- contesters from other political parties to help consider stepping down for him (Soludo) to enable him actualize his vision 2070 of making Anambra a clean, green, peaceful, secure, livable and prosperous homeland in Nigeria.
“We are using this summit to inform the public that, we are strongly behind the second term ambition of governor Soludo,” the women noted.

Addressing the women, the governor’s wife, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo described what her husband administration had been able to achieve in the area of women empowerment so far as phenomenal and has greatly raised the living standard of women in the State to an enviable status.
While thanking the women for endorsing her husband for a second term, Mrs Soludo assured that the present government would continue to work towards improving the welfare of women in the state.
She described women as nation builders which the society cannot do without, and commended them for their massive turnout which according to her, spoke volumes of their approval of the development model of her husband’s administration.

The Summit which took place at the APGA South East Regional Office in Awka, on Wednesday, with the Theme; Together We Rise: “Achieving the best through the women” also witnessed the presence of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University COOU, Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha.
Others were State Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, former State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Ndidi Mezue, APGA supporters, among others.
