Soludo Honours 2024 President’s Teachers, Schools Excellence Awards Winners

Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has applauded the recipients of the 2024 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Awards for their outstanding achievements.

The commendation was conveyed by Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, during a reception for the awardees at the Udorji Secretariat Complex, Awka.

Addressing the awardees, Chuma-Udeh emphasized Governor’s immense pride in their accomplishments, noting that their victories at the prestigious award ceremony, held at Eagle Square, Abuja, have brought great honor to the state.

“The true essence of winning such an award goes beyond its monetary value, rather, it is the recognition and elevation by divine grace above one’s peers.

“The fact that, out of many contenders, you were chosen for this honor is something to be deeply grateful for,” she said.

The Commissioner urged the awardees to remain diligent, avoid complacency, and strive for even greater achievements, as this milestone marks just the beginning of their career successes.

At the award ceremony held last year, Anambra teachers shone brightly, with Mr. Nwosu Joseph Afamefuna from Government Technical School, Osomalla, clinching the coveted Overall Best Teacher in Nigeria award, an honor that came with a brand-new car.

Additionally, Dr. Mrs. Grace Umezinwa, Principal of Girls High School, Ugah, secured the Ist Runner-up Best Administrator, Senior Secondary Category award, while Mrs. Francisca Chukwudumebi of Afoigwe Primary School, Umudioka, emerged as the 2nd Best School Administrator, Primary School Category.

Holy Child Secondary School, Isuofia, was recognized as the Best Private School in Nigeria.

The event which witnessed distribution of Lenovo laptops to the awardees by Prof. Chuma-Udeh and Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake had Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, and other Directors of the Ministry of Education in attendance.
