Female Civil Servant Blames Stress for Stealing Soap, Biscuits at Motor Park

A female civil servant (name withheld) who was on Tuesday arrested for stealing a bar of soap and a packet of biscuit at the Amawbia bypass park, in Awka, Anambra State has blamed stress for the crime.

According to park attendants who witnessed the incident, it occurred around 10am when the suspect, who wore expensive outfit, perfume and shouting makeup, was caught concealing the items in her bag.

The park attendants promptly confronted her and recovered the stolen items in the process.

The suspect, when questioned about her actions, blamed the act on stress.

“Actually I was under a lot of stress and wasn’t thinking clearly when I carried out the action,” she confessed.

The incident has generated widespread outrage, with many calling for stricter punishment for her.

Our reporter gathered that senior officials in her office have promised to take appropriate disciplinary action against the suspect as the investigation continued.
