The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu has disclosed plans to resuscitate the Cattle Menace Committee in the Command targeted at mitigating on the issues caused by stray cattle/herders and the communities.
Orutugu stated this while hosting Hausa/Fulani community who were in his office on a courtesy visit.
He said the establishment of the committee was part of efforts in seeking solution to the problems posed by cattle grazing, such as the destruction of crops, accidents and conflicts between herders and local communities in the State.
He assured Ndi Anambra and residents alike that the Command under his watch would continue to take proactive steps to address all security concerns in the State.
“Reviving the Committee will help to promote a safer and more harmonious coexistence between different communities in Anambra State,” he stated.
