Member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu has empowered 100 youths of her constituency in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The lawmaker also distributed 100 brand new laptops and cash gifts to beneficiaries across her constituency.
Speaking during the groundbreaking empowerment at Ezi Ndi Iche Hall, Awka, Orogbu said the initiative, facilitated through National Productivity Centre (NPC), aimed to equip youths with the necessary skills to compete favorably on the global stage.
“This is a significant move to enhance human capital development and strategically empower youths in ICT.
“Additionally, it provided ICT training and empowerment to equip youths with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital space and establish a means of livelihood,” she stated.
Responding, the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, acknowledging the potential impact of the initiative on their lives.
As a professor of Business Administration at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Orogbu has consistently demonstrated her commitment to empowering youths and promoting human capital development in her constituency.
