Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu, a political support group has charged the National Chairman of APC Alhaji Umar Ganduje to ensure that the party conducts a free and fair primary election in Anambra state ahead of the November governorship polls.
The National Coordinator of the group, Iyke Madu, made the call during a courtesy visit to the Chairman and the National Working Committee at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
The political support group which campaigned vigorously for President Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, recently embarked on distribution of palliatives across the 774 local government areas of the country to support the President in cushioning hardships brought about by recent economic reforms.
Madu commended the APC leadership for rejuvenating the party while appealing for Anambra to be reinstated into national politics especially now that the governorship election is at hand.
He insisted that only an indirect primary election will produce an acceptable candidate considering the level of insecurity in Anambra state.
The APC Boss, in his response, expressed desire to see Anambra APC produce a candidate that will be accepted by all aspirants promising to give them a national award if they could achieve that.
He promised to discuss with the National Working Committee of the party to determine the best mode of primary election for the state.
Ganduje urged the aspirants, who he described as wealthy, not to use their wealth to foment trouble in the state but to rather use it in building a stronger APC in Anambra state.
