3 Storey Building Collapses in Awka, Fire Fighters Rescue Casualties

A three-storey building on Wednesday evening collapsed along Enugu – Onitsha expressway, Awka, Anambra State.

The building, located beside Diamond Pizza, opposite 5 Star Restaurant is said to be at the roofing level.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said unconfirmed casualties have been rescued from the rubbles by officers of the State Fire Service who arrived the area shortly after the incident.

Though the number of deaths are yet to be confirmed by relevant authorities, but rescuing operation was ongoing at the site as at the time of filing this report.
