A Magistrate Court in Abuja has issued a remand order for former presidential aide Reno Omokri and three others, including former Dunamis Church Pastor Abraham Daniel, following accusations of defamation and cyberbullying against Dunamis International Gospel Centre’s Pastor Paul Enenche.

The arrest warrant against Reno Omokri and others, signed by Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna on January 13, 2025, also named Alexander Enenche and Peter Enenche as respondents.

The court’s decision came after an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, seeking the suspects’ detention to aid ongoing investigations.

According to court records, the accused are to remain in custody until their arraignment and trial set for January 30, 2025.

The legal proceedings stem from a petition filed by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Patrick O. Okolo, alleging that Reno Omokri and his co-accused engaged in cyber harassment, criminal defamation, and the spread of false information, actions purportedly intended to incite public unrest.
Tensions reportedly began after Pastor Abraham Daniel resigned from Dunamis Church following over a decade of service, citing personal conflicts with Pastor Paul Enenche. Sources claim that Daniel faced threats and intimidation, culminating in a car accident and subsequent arrest by plainclothes officers allegedly acting on Pastor Enenche’s instructions.

Pastor Daniel further alleged that he was coerced into issuing a public apology and deleting social media posts critical of Dunamis Church. Despite agreeing to a settlement, the terms of compensation were reportedly not honored, intensifying the fallout.

Police investigations have extended to Reno Omokri’s social media activities, which include posts referencing the internal affairs of Dunamis Church. The outcome of the investigation will determine the formal charges against the respondents.
