A source close to the family confirmed that the judge was released on Sunday, barely 24 hours after his abduction, sparking widespread jubilation among sympathizers who have been thronging his residence since the incident.

In a statement titled โ€œNotification of Release and Expression of Profound Gratitude,โ€ Sr. Maria Sobenna Ikeotuonye, IHM Secretary General, announced the release of the Reverend Sisters, saying:

โ€œWe thank God and thank you all for your prayers and support all through these rough and uncertain days. May God forever be blessed through Mary our Mother.โ€
