Group Hosts Annual General Meeting, Plans Big for Members, Less Privilege

At the end of every year, one of the notable non governmental and non profit-making organizations in Nnewi, Anambra State under the aegis of “Ndแป‹ Obodo Uwa Nile” gets together, unwind and discuss issues that border on welfare of its members and others.

The group in its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and end of year get-together reviewed its activities for the year that ended with a view to assessing its achievements and areas that needed improvement.

President of the group, Mr Lawrence Amadi who spoke to our Correspondent during the AGM said Ndแป‹ Obodo Uwa Nile had in its four years of existence done series of philanthropic gestures towards helping the less privileged.

He said the group in the course time had helped its members in various dimensions in addition to non members within the catchment area of the group.

On the challenges of the group, Mr Amadi said there had not been any insurmountable challenge the group encountered over the years.

He noted that members of the Ndแป‹ Obodo Uwa Nile had been very hard-working as a team to ensure that everything runs smoothly in the association.

The Pioneer Secretary of the group, Barr T.S. Arugbuonye in his submission disclosed that membership for Ndแป‹ Obodo Uwa Nile is not restricted to any ethnic nationality in Nigeria.

“Members are welcome from any part of Nigeria irrespective of one’s ethnic group.

“We carter for the sick, indigent students, less privileged, prisoners and destitute homes and other philanthropic gestures, “he revealed.

The group used the opportunity to discuss general issues affecting the members including constitutional matters with a view to forging ahead.
