Cult War: Ezinano Community Announces N10m Bounty on Perpetrators of Nibo Killing

The Ezinano Community, near Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State has announced a ₦10m reward for information leading to the capture of perpetrators of the recent attacks that claimed no fewer than 16 lives in the area.

The tragic incident which occurred during the Onwa Asaa festival in the area involved some residents of Ezinano which shares affinity with Nibo.

Announcing the bounty during the Second Edition of Ezinano Day, a celebration of the community’s culture and heritage, Community leader, Ozo Chief Jeff Nweke condemned the dastardly attack in the area.

He declared war on cultism in Ezinano and surrounding communities, just as he vowed to avenge future deaths.

“The Ezinano Community will not tolerate violence or cultism. We will not rest until justice is served. We urge anyone with information to come forward and help bring the perpetrators to justice,” he stated.

Nweke who also unveiled a N100m empowerment fund for local women, with initiall launch of N50m, said the fund was meant to support women-led initiatives and promote economic development in the area.

“The empowerment programme is part of our commitment to building prosperous and peaceful community. We believe that empowering women is key to unlocking our community’s potential,” he added.

The community leader had earlier announced that he would hand over the mantle of Ezinano leadership to someone else before the end of the year.

The Ezinano Day celebrations which attracted dignitaries from all parts of the state featured masquerade dances, cultural performances and community festivities.
