Security Agencies Assure Corps Members of Security in Anambra

Security agencies have assured serving Corps members in Anambra State of adequate security cover from security agencies

The assurance was given by the security chiefs in the state while playing host to the Director, National Youths Service Corp, NYSC, South East Area Office 1, Mr Ayodele Adegoke.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr. Adegoke who was on familiarisation tours of the Scheme’s critical stakeholders in Anambra State, had commended the Nigerian Security Operatives for their synergy in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities.

He noted particularly the role of the Army, Department of State Security and other sister security agencies in the discipline, surveillance, physical and mental as well as leadership training of Corps Members during orientation periods and throughout their service year.

According to him, the security organisations not only carry out their duties professionally, but equally timely, calling for more sustainable relationship with the Scheme.

In their seperate reactions, the security chiefs affairmed that their duties in the State in relation to the NYSC have always been made easier and highly successful by the favourable disposition of the State Coordinator, Mrs Blessing Ekene Iruma, her adminstrative dexterity and humble approach to issues.

Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment, Nigerian Army, Onitsha, Anambra State, Col.AK Mohammad said his organization would ensure the spirits of the founding fathers of the scheme was maintained at all times.

“The National Youth Service Corps being the brain child of the military, the Army will stop at nothing to ensure that the spirits of the founding fathers of the scheme,are maintained at all times,” he stated.

On his part, Director, Department of State Services,Mr Steve Ojulade, said that his department devotes 24 hours each day for issues concerning the NYSC as the Corps Members are critical assets of government.

Police Commissioner, Mr Nnaghe Obong Itam, in his remarks revealed that the Nigeria Police Force, which work from the grassroots to the highranking areas, are familiar with all the terrains in the country and as regards Corps Members, they are always ready to protect them.

Responding, NYSC State Coordinator described the relationship she has with all the security operatives as that of a family and called for its sustenance.
