It was celebration galore for drivers and commuters ply the ever busy Onitsha-33- Nwafor Orizu College – Umueri Road in Anambra State as Senator Tony Nwoye inspected the recently rehabilitated road linking the major towns and communities in the area.
The road rehabilitation, which was facilitated by Nwoye followed his intervention in fulfilment of his promise to his constituents who brought his attention to the deplorable state of the road on the social media platform X formerly known as Twitter.
The lawmaker representing the Anambra North Senatorial District at the national assembly told newsmen that the rehabilitated road project would enhance transportation of agricultural products from farm to markets, and also enhance economic activities in the area. He promised to install Solar Lights along the road.
Many of commercial Tricycle Operators hailed Senator Nwoye for facilitating the project, stressing that it has reduced hardship being faced by motorists and commuters on the road.
Mr Ifeanyi Ogbaji, a Keke driver expressed joy and thanked the Senator for responding to their cry over the state of the road and the nightmare it caused them.
The road rehabilitation was handled by the Federal Ministry of Works through its agency, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
