Soludo Approves Payment of New Minimum Wage to Anambra Workers

Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Friday night gave his approval for immediate payment of the new Minimum wage to Anambra State civi servants.

AnambraDaily can report that with this approval, the least paid worker in Anambra State civil service will be receiving monthly salary of N70,000, or more, ranging between N78,000 to N84,000, depending on the outcome of the tabulation by the government team.

Governor Soludo also announced a monthly cash award of N10,000 to all Pensioners in the state, until a time the Pension salary shall be reviewed. This interim cash award ,he said was necessitated on his goodwill and empathy on the situation of the pensioners.

This ppaper gathered that Governor Soludo’s announcement of the new minimum wage approval at the government house on Friday night send labour leaders and state workers into delirium.

The Organized Labour leaders were led by Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Humphrey Emeka Nwafor and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Comrade Chris Ogbonna.

Governor Soludo who seized the opportunity to assure the labour leaders that his government was committed to security of lives and property in Anambra, announced that the state would take delivery of hundreds of security vehicles for the Anambra Vigilant Groups (AVGs) and other security agencies.
