Anambra Govt Approves N852m for Tower, Water Fountain, Doctors’ Quarters, Others

Anambra State government has approved contracts for more infrastructural projects in different parts of the State. This approval, which was made during the 32nd Meeting of the State Executive Council in Awka, totals a whopping sum of N852,175,777.86, for all the projects, which include the renovation of Urban Secondary School, Nkpor; construction of the iconic “Light of the Nation” tower and water fountain; construction of the in-house doctors’ residential quarters at the Okpoko General Hospital; as well as the renovation of the Rehabilitation Centre at Nteje.

Confirming this in a statement issued to newsmen in Awka, the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, also gave a breakdown of the specific amount approved for each of the projects, the contracting firm, as well as the completion timeline for each.

“Renovation of Urban Secondary School Nkpor, Idemili North LGA, at the sum of 127,954,177.43 (one hundred and twenty-seven million, nine hundred and fifty-four thousand, one seventy-seven Naira forty-three kobo). The contract was awarded to WILLEZ Construction Company, and the project timeline is 5 months.

“Construction of the iconic Light of the Nation tower and water fountain, awarded at the sum of 604,208,219.45 (six hundred and four million, two hundred and eight thousand, two hundred and nineteen Naira forty-five kobo) to IMES Construction Company. The project timeline is 4 months.

“Construction of the in-house doctors’ residential quarters at the Okpoko General Hospital to Crystal Dove Construction Company Ltd. At the sum of 43,295,290.00 (forty-three million, two hundred and ninety-five thousand, two hundred and ninety Naira). The expected project timeline is 3 months.

“Renovation of the Rehabilitation Centre at Nteje, Oyi LGA, at the sum of 76,718,090.98 (seventy-six million, seven hundred and eighteen thousand, ninety Naira, ninety-eight kobo). The contract is awarded to Resca Services Ltd., and the project timeline is 3 months.”
