Anambra Govt Announces Movement Restrictions During Council Polls

Anambra State government on Friday, annohnced that there would be a movement restriction throughout the state on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to enable citizens participate in the polls.

It ssaid the movement restriction was requested by the electoral umpire, the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC).

An oofficial statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor explains: “the restriction order is to ensure a peaceful and seamless exercise during the Anambra State Local Government Council Election, except for those on election duties and essential services such as INEC officials, electoral observers, accredited Journalists, ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, etc.

“Full compliance is strongly advised to avoid the wrath of the law. Thanks for your anticipated maximum cooperation.
