DSS Operatives Arrest IPOB Commander With 600 Rounds of Ammunition

A high profile commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said to be responsible for the coordination of the group’s activities in Ebonyi State, has been reportedly arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Highly-placed security sources, who informed New Telegraph about the development on Thursday evening, said the suspect (name withheld), was apprehended following intelligence reports of his involvement in heinous activities within the general area.

The sources further disclosed the killing of scores of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in Shiroro Local Governments Area of Niger State.

A total of 600 rounds of 5.6mm caliber ammunition, among other dangerous items, were recovered from him by the DSS operatives.

Speaking in confidence, one of the sources said: “I’m pleased to inform you that precisely on September 9, our personnel, with the support of the military, apprehended a high-profile commander of IPOB, who is also the coordinator of the outlawed group’s activities in Ebonyi State.

“At the time of his arrest, he had recruited several mercenaries for possible attack on the state, and its environs, according to intelligence gathered.

“We also recovered six hundred (600) rounds of 5.6mm high caliber ammunition from the suspect, who is helping our investigation activities.

“We assure Nigerians of our determination to contain the excesses of these enemies of state in no distant time.

“We urge the general public to trust the DSS and other security agencies by providing credible information on suspicious persons and activities around their domains.
