Peter Obi Commiserates with Victims of Oye Abagana Road Crash

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party Candidate in the 2023 Presidential election has commiserated with victims of road crash at Oye Abagana at Njikoka Local Government of Anambra State.

The former Anambra Governor, reacted to the tragic crash that culminated in the death of five year old girl, leaving many others with various degrees of injuries which the a post on his verified X account. @PeterObi.
He wrote: “I am disheartened by the sad news reports of a fatal road accident which occurred at a local market in the Abagana Community of Anambra State, where some lives were lost, and others injured.

“I encourage the Road Safety Commission to remain firm in implementing road safety measures and ensure that road users strictly obey road traffic rules and regulations.

“I sincerely condole with the families who have lost loved ones, and pray for the quick recovery of those injured. – PO

According to prelimary report by the Anambra State Police Command, the accident occurred due to the break failure of the Toyota Sienna vehicle carrying passengers and en route to Lagos which rammed into traders selling by the roadside at Oye Agu junction.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Commissioner, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam has ordered for arrest and interrogation of the driver of the ill-fated vehicle.

The CP Itam also cautioned drivers/transporters to always do the necessary checks before plying the road, especially during this Ember month.
