Anambra State government has placed a ban on the use of school compounds for all forms of social gatherings.
Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh disclosed this in a statement on Friday signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs Ifeoma Agbaizu.
She warned all principals to desist from using school premises as commercial venture, stressing that any principal indulging in such act would be severely dealt with.
She directed Chairmen of Post Primary Schools Services Commission (PPSSC) and Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) to ensure the message was disseminated to all principals and headteachers in the State.
She further directed school heads to keep to the policy as sacrosanct, warning that no group should be allowed to mess up with school compounds.
