Controversial social media influencer and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri’s continued attacks on Mr. Peter Obi and Igbos are getting worse by the day.

On several occasions, Mr. Omokri who is in self-imposed exile and seriously looking for political appointment, had attacked Mr. Obi as well as made several un-complimentary remarks on the Igbo people.

Recently, he alleged that Obi bought 400 vehicles for traditional rulers while he was the governor of Anambra State.

In reaction to the false allegation, the Anambra North Senator, Dr. Tony Nwoye, said that Peter Obi did not buy 400 vehicles for traditional rulers when he was governor of the state.

Nwoye, a Labour Party chieftain said that Anambra State has 179 communities and each community has only one king.

Recall that the former governor of Anambra State, Obi, had called on President Bola Tinubu to explain to Nigerians the details of ₦150 billion Presidential Jet he purchased amid hunger and economic hardship.

Reacting to Obi’s statement, Omokri argued that the Labour Party’s former presidential candidate lacked the moral ground to demand an explanation from Tinubu since he bought 400 SUVs for traditional rulers during his tenure as governor.

The Anambra North Senator, however, explained that the 400 vehicles Obi bought were not for traditional rulers in the state.

Nwoye said, “Anambra State doesn’t have 400 Igwes. What we have here in Anambra State is 179 communities and with each community having one Igwe. So the vehicles and buses bought at the time were not for Ndi Igwes. That is one.

The Innoson vehicles that were bought during the Peter Obi regime were also for security purposes. Every community in Anambra State got one vehicle. Peter Obi also trained Local vigilantes and the State Government was paying them monthly Salary.

“Then Urban Communities like Onitsha, Nnewi, Ekwulobia and Awka got almost 7 to 11 vehicles each.

“Also, those vehicles bought at that time, all secondary schools in Anambra State got one from Peter Obi government then. These are facts before Ndi Anambra.”

He decried that the allegation from Omokri was false and a misrepresentation of facts.
