Investigation carried on by newsmen has shown that there was no gungunmantack or neither eight people kidnapped in Amakor village Nanka Orumba North LGA as widely reported in some social media outfits recently.
According to newsmen who went to Amakor village Nanka to ascertain the truth of the matter, so many indigenes of the town who spoke on the matter who are witnesses to the incident said that what happened was that Police came and arrested a suspect during a social function who they said they earlier summoned to their headquarters in Abuja on suspicion of engaging in unruly be behaviour Amakor village stressing that no indigene of the village or town was kidnapped.
Corroborating these findings journalists while speaking with newsmen on the matter, chief Clifford Iloegbunne Okoye a former Chairman of NBA Aguata Branch and the legal adviser of Nanka PatPatrioticion (NPU) the umbrella body of all Nanka indigenes said such news is odious, mischievous, dangerous and a deliberate attempt to portray the town as unsafe so dissuade the town indigenes in Diaspora not to come back to join there are brethren celebrate the oncoming town New Yam festival which will be done in no distant time.
Saying such news is evil and capable of causing tension in the town as well as in Anambra State as its originators are enemies of peace. He noted that what took place on that day was that the Police came to the village to effect the arrest of One Mr Mrinna Ezeilo an indigene of Amakor village who had been floating a splinter group Amakor Njikoka Development Union against the village recognized executive body despite several letters of warning to desist from the act by the Anambra State government.
While tendering several letters sent to Mr.Mrinna Ezeilo by the Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government and Town Union Matters Dr.Drllins Nwabunanne on the issue, he stated, that Mr Mrinna Ezeilo together with two others were summoned by the Police to Abuja Headquarters and was arrested that day together with one Mr Mrmanuel Iloh who sources told newsmen was engaging in an egal celebration of Ozo title ceremony on that day and others.
Said the legal adviser, โThis news is evil, condemnable, my town Nanka is peaceful, the unity of the town is well knit, everybody is going on with their their affairs without fear or molestation, we are safe, am appealing to our people to disregard such news and prepare for our oncoming new yam festival as all is wellโ.
