Igwe Odiegwu tasks Nigerians with massive involvement in agricultural ventures

HRM Godwin Odiegwu Eze di Oranma of Abacha town one of the towns that make up Idemili North LGA Anambra state has tasked all Nigerians especially youths as a matter of urgency to massively get involved in agricultural ventures so that food will be made available in abundance all Nigerians table especially among the common people in the country.

Making this call while embarking on the ceremonial traditional breaking of yam to mark his community Abacha 2024 new yam festival held at his palace last week, Igwe Odiegwu while lamenting the growing hunger in the country right now noted that it is high time every NigerNigerianspective of the tribe, status especially youths to massively get involved in any agricultural ventures to make food available, especially on the common man table in every part of the country.

Said the monarch, “All Allrians should put their hands on deck to be part of the agricultural revolution to produce foods, hunger among Nigerians is increasing astronomically every day, Nigerians should rise to tackle it”, the government in the land should rise to ensure youths are encouraged to take up these challenges.

Commenting on Gov. Soludo’s performance so far, he commended him highly on development strides in infrastructures, like quality roads, health care, youth empowerment, employment of qualified teachers who have impacted positively on state education sectors, restoration of transparency in the state administration etc.

Saying that the governor has set a development pace in almost all the sectors of the state, he commended him for his latest plan to conduct the much-forgotten local government in the state stressing that the installation of local government administration in the state will boost the development more in the grassroots of the state even as he pleaded with him to remember the town in his development program especially in the area of construction of roads.

Said he again, “am pleading to the governor to look into issues of my community linked road to other neighbouring communities, these roads include the road from Abacha to Abatete town and Oraukwu community as well as the one from Abacha to Nimo community,

Speaking also, Chief Paul Omofia Onowu (the traditional prime minister) of the community said that yam festivals in the town are an annual event that the traditional ruler of the town performs every year to kick off the eating of new yam in the town by indigenes of the community adding that the community uses it whenever it comes up to felicitate with each other in love as well as perform other social functions like masquerading, traditional dances etc.

On their part, High Chief Sir Godwin Oguejiofor, Ichie Ugodinaobi, a member of the Igwe royal cabinet, chief (AMB) Jeff Ubah, Ichie Obataobie, Igwe Abacha palace secretary, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke Odekwa, a stakeholder in the community all noted that celebration of new yam festivals in the town always usher peace, love, unity, development etc. adding that the occasion is an avenue for citizens of the town to felicitate with each other as well as thank God for his blessings upon the people.

While thanking God for peace in the community, they appealed to all citizens of the town to continue rallying around the Igwe HRM Godwin Odiegwu Eze Ikendim the III of Abacha ancient kingdom and his cabinets for peace and tranquillity to continue reigning in the town
