A philanthropist and business mogul, Chief Joseph Onuorah has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s developmenta strides in the past two years in office.
Chief Onuorah who stated this while answering questions from newsmen in the affairs of the state, said that the Governor has brought visible developments in almost all sectors of the Anambra economy since he assumed office barely two years ago.
Chief Onuorah who extolled the Governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development, especially road constructions, appealed to Governor Soludo to construct the Oko-Ndiowu-Ufuma link road as it will open up the agrarian communities along the axis, create jobs and employment opportunities mostly for the youths thereby arresting youths restiveness.
He described the constitution and ongoing construction of over four hundred kilometres of roads by the Soludo administration within his two years in office as unprecedented and phenomenal in the history of Anambra, urging him to sustain the momentum.
The business mogul pointed out that the free antenatal and delivery services granted to pregnant women and mothers by the current administration in the state has significantly reduce maternal mortality rate in the state and advised the Governor to continue his massive investment in the health sector as adequate health services is key to economic development of amy nation.
Chief Onuorah however urged Governor Soludo to redouble his efforts in tackling insecurity in the state, as cases of killings and kidnappings are still popping up recklessly across some local government areas and communities in Anambra south sensational zone.
He maintained that effective security network is one of the models for good governance in the developed countries of the world, even as he changed Anambra residents to alive to their responsibilities as security is every body’s business.
According to the philanthropist also known as “Deme-Deme Na Orumba”, the recent awards won by Governor Soludo, especially as the Champions Newspaper Man of the year 2023 on infrastructure and rural development is well deserved, and described the recent appointment of the Governor as the Vice Chairman, Southern Governor’s Forum as a step in the right direction.
Chief Onuorah called on Governor Soludo to use his new position to advocate for equitable distribution of resources by the federal government and other pressing issues facing the southeast region, especially insecurity and discrimination in terms of job opportunities and appointments in key federal government ministries, departments and agencies in the interest of peace, justice and fairness.
