Anambra: Clergy Charges LG Boss To Work More, Focus On His Good Work As He Resumes Office On Reappointment

A Clergy, Rev.Fr Evaristus Nwagbara of St Dominic’s Catholic Church Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Anambra State have urged the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the area Hon. Emeka Joseph Orji, to focus on his good works which resulted on his reappointment by the State Government.

Rev.Fr Nwagbara said this at the Local government Secretariat in his homily during the thanksgiving mass to mark the first day of the resume of office of the Local Government Boss.

Nwagbara who was the officiating priest said that we should prepare for ourselves treasures in heaven, and that as humans we must always give gratitude to God and he described grace which was the theme of reflection as the unmerited favour.

According to him,”Today’s reading says that God chooses Joseph to work for him and since God has chosen him, we all know the history of Joseph in the bible, he who comes for the betterment of his brothers,people.

โ€But his brothers seeing out of jealous sold him out not knowing that they are helping for his greatness.

“Atimes for you to discover the grace of God, you must disagree with some people to agree totally, the situation you find yourself is not put of your own making”, he adviced.

Nwagbara urged Orji not to allow his workers to cry, not to make them regret ever working with him, or to allow them to be betrayed, to carry them along for the betterment of the Local Government.

He maintained that anybody you have given money will never eliminate you, even if he tried, it will never works, he also stressed on the importance of helping one another financially, morally, materially and otherwise.

Advised him to maintain his way of judicious use of finances, not to be pompous, not to be like politicians who are after buying all the lands with peoples money instead of channelling it on its purpose while the poor masses are dying of hunger and to leave a legacy that will be beneficial to his children because he is reaping from the grace and legacy of his father.

He charged the workers to give him maximum cooperation and support both spiritually, morally and physically in carrying out his duties, saying that king rules well based on the information given to him(A nuta, A kara Eze)

Hon Orji, in his reaction, thanked Rev Fr Nwagbara, his colleague, Rev.Fr Osita Ike, a friend who visited from Australia, friends, staffs, who joined in the mass.

He expressed his readiness to continue from where he stopped and to work more hard in making Onitsha south LG a liveable place both on security, friendly environment.

Praying and blessing the LG Boss by the Rev.Fathers is the highlight of the event.
