Anambra CP Visits WAEC Centers, Hail Citizens for Defying Illegal Sit-at-Home

The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has hailed the good people of Anambra in their resolve to sustain the message of peace by standing up against illegal sit-at-home orders by criminal elements and any other act that threatens the national unity and public peace in the Anambra State.
He noted that Ndi Anambra are blessed with vibrant, energetic, and enterprising people full of potential and this can only be fully realized in a peaceful and secure environment.
He stated this today 30th May 2024 when he led the police security patrol to some identified areas in the State to assess the security deployment and monitor compliance to the Operational order.
He also visited schools where the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), is ongoing and was pleased with the on-the-spot assessment of the security arrangement.
According to SP Tochkwu Ikenga, the PPRO of Anambra Command, CP Itam Charged the personnel deployed for the assignment to be resolute, firm, and professional in the discharge of their duties and urges residents to remain vigilant, and law-abiding and continue to assist the Police and other security agencies, especially with information to enable them synergize and collaborate towards combating all forms of criminality as well as maintaining public order and safety in the State.
Meanwhile, the police operatives had earlier
following the intel gathered laid ambush on the miscreants along Oba flyover, Idemili south and intercepted a gang of four armed men operating on motorbikes and demobilized one of the miscreants while the other three escaped the scene with bullet injuries.
According to SP Tochkwu Ikenga, the PPRO, the Operatives recovered a locally made Barreta pistol, four expanded cartridges, two phones, and some signals/initials showing unpatriotism and disloyalty to the Nigerian government.
Preliminary information shows the armed men were regrouping to enforce illegal sit-at-home.
Meanwhile, the operatives are on the trail of the three armed men who escaped the scene.
To this end the CP Itam charges the Operatives to sustain the tempo of the Onslaught against the criminal elements and continue to deny them the space they enjoy to commit havoc in the State.
