New Wrestling Association Boss Unveils Plans for Restoration of Wrestling Glory in AnambraBy Ikemefuna Asika (Awka)

A veteran wrestler and the next Chairman of Anambra State Wrestling Association Chairman, Uchenna Animoke, has promised to restore the glory of the sport when assumes office as chairman of Anambra Wrestling Association.

Animoke popularly known as ‘Mighty Uche Fancy’ in his active days, disclosed this to newsmen in Awka on Tuesday.

He promised to lead a crusade for the reinvention of wrestling and make it the top medal winning sport for Anambra State

According to him, “Anambra is rich with human resources that can make us the number one wrestling state in Nigeria.

“You remember, Mike Okpala, popularly known as Power Mike is from here, the association under my leadership will seek to bring back the glorious days of Anambra wrestling.

“We shall have wrestling clubs and organize competitions to create opportunities for our youths to compete for state, national and international honours” he said.

Animoke is the proprietor of the popular Mighty Fancy Super Star Club, Fegge in Onitsha, a place of training combat sports fighters such as wrestling, Taekwondo, Karate and Judo.

The inauguration of Anambra Wrestling Association (AWA) is scheduled later this year.
