Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has described Traditional Ruler of Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Kris Onyekwuluje as a peace lover who detested violence.
He said the monarch’s greatest legacy was his dedication to a stable and United Umunya Community.
Speaking through his Deputy Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Soludo also described as a “monumental loss” the death of the traditional ruler who reigned for 25 years on the throne and was aged 61 years.
Ibezim who attended the funeral services for the departed Monarch at St James Anglican Church Umunya in company of other top hierarchies of the state government, conveyed “Prof. Soludo’s deepest condolences” to the immediate Onyekwuluje family, Umunya Community and Oyi Local government area.
“Igwe Kris Chinedum Onyekwuluje was a man of many solid parts, a peace loving royal father, who detested violence.
“The monarch’s greatest legacy, which must be sustained, was his dedication to a stable and United Umunya Community.
“These sterling qualities will forever remain evergreen in the heart of Ndi Umunya and Oyi Local government area,” he added.
The deputy governor further added that Late Monarch’s biographies and tributes from family and friends affirmed that Igwe Kris Chinedum Onyekwuluje was instrumental to numerous progress Umunya had achieved in the last two decades and half under his watch.
” Igwe Kris Onyekwuluje will be remembered and honoured as an advocate of peace, dialogue and reconciliation and a firm believer that Soludo government is bequeathing a better future for Ndi Anambra”
While praying God to grant the soul of the departed a peaceful repose and on the part of those who mourn, the fortitude to bear the loss, Dr. Ibezim also prayed God to grant his people and entire Umunya community, a worthy successor.
