No fewer than 208 corpses abandoned at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku-Awka, Anambra State has been approved for mass burial by the State Government.
A statement by the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Agbai Henrietta said the corpses had been in the hospital’s morgue from 2014 to 2023 December .
The hospital called on those whose relatives were missing to visit the Hospital mortuary for possible identification and collection of such corpses(s) within one month from the date of the publication.
The statements reads: His excellency ,The Executive Governor of Anambra State has approved the disposal of abandoned corpses at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku-Awka.
“To this end, the management wishes to inform the general public tthat COOUTH Amaku-Awka intendes to conducts mass burial of the abandoned corpses in its mortuary from 2014 to 2023 December .
“Therefore , those whose relatives are missing should visit the Hospital mortuary for possible identification and collection of such corpses(s) within one month from the date of this publications.”
