Tension as Kinsmen Torture 60-Year-Old Accused of Selling Tank to Death in Anambra Community

Residents of Nza Village in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State have been thrown into mourning following alleged killing of a 60-year-old man by his kinsman.
The deceased identified simply as Kenneth allegedly died while he was being tortured by local vigilant members said to be hired by his Kinsmen. He was subjected to the harsh treatment for selling a water tank belonging to his family to settle his personal bills.

A video clip of the incident sighted by AnambraDaily captured the moment the deceased was groaning in pains as his hands and feet were tied. He was overheard in the video which has gone viral on the social media, begging and shouting that he was dying and asking the offence he committed that warranted such punishment.

Two men were seen in the video flogging the victim with cutlass and stick while a woman suspected to be his wife was overheard in the background crying.
Gwamnishu Harrison Emefiele, an activist and Founder of Behind Bars Foundation who shared the viral video, also called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to quickly put in place mechinery to ensure that those behind the sudden death of Mr. Kenneth are brought to book.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Command says it has launched manhunt for the perpetrators. The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga who confirmed the report, said the police have launched investigation into the case.
