Nollywood Actor, 3 Others Drown in Anambra West Boat Mishap

Renowned Nigerian actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Jnr Pope has reportedly drowned in Anam River in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State

The deceased was said to be on his way to a movie location when the incident happened few hours the actor shared a video of himself and other actors on a boat heading to the location.

Breaking the unfortunate news, filmmaker Sam Olatunji, revealed that the
39-year-old actor died alongside three others after their boat capsized, while their bodies have been recovered.

The ugly incident has continued to spark off chain of reactions and has shocked fans and fellow industry figures, with many expressing their condolences and disbelief on social media platforms.

“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered. What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Multiple sources confirm this sad development to us,” a social media user wrote.

Prior to his death, Odonwodo was known to show off his wife and children ad he put in effort to interpret his movie roles.

Aside from being a movie star, Junior Pope was also involved in skit-making and he got the attention of his fans with his videos.
