Desist from Formenting Trouble – NSCDC Warns Miscreants

Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde has warned disgruntled elements intending to cause any form of violence or disturbance of public peace in the state to have a rethink or desist forthwith.

He said NSCDC is fully prepared and battle ready to deal decisively with miscreants, hoodlums, and vandals to ensure safety and security in the State.

Maku spoke on Wednesday during a visit to some flashpoints to assess the security situation and the readiness of personnel to deal with criminal elements who may want to disrupt the Salah celebration.

Addressing the personnel, NSCDC boss commended them for display of professionalism even as he urged them to remain alert and vigilant to prevent any unpleasant situation.

He said the command has deployed all assets including kinetic and non- kinetic approaches at its disposal to curtail criminal activities before, during and after the festive period.

He said, “The Command has sustained its operations acted on actionable intelligence and continually emplace strategies that are potent enough to combat all forms of violent crimes, vandalism , kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and cultism among others.

“We are on high alert and shall continue to thwart the plans of these criminals, it is them and us and this is a fight we are not willing to lose. We have heightened our operations and are intensifying them throughout the state.”

Maku further called for collective effort among citizens and security agencies to fish out perpetrators of heinous crimes in society cautioning the public not to shield anyone they reasonably suspect engaging in crime for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.

He used the visit to felicitate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Minister of Interior; Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo , the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi mni, OFR and all Muslims for successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the Eid-Ei Fitr celebrations.

The visit which is ongoing till the festive period is over took the State Commandant to Agu Awka Junction, Government House Junction, Aroma Junction, Aroma Bridge, Ftederal Secretariat road, Unizik Junction, Kwata Junction, Amawbia bye pass, ABS Junction, Ekwueme Square road, Ziks Avenue and Eid -El-Fitr praying ground.

The State Commandant was accompanied by Deputy Commandant of Corps, Alada Yakubu; HOD Ops, Deputy Commandant of Corps, Akaachia Godwin; DSO, Assistant Commandant of Corps , Fidelia Enunwe, Assistant Commandant of Corps, Onyebuchi Onwuteaka, among others.
