The President General, Anambra State Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, played host to All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Oraeri ward, Aguata Local Government Area, as it inaugurated its new executive members in his Oraeri house.
Inaugurating the new executives, Hon. Vitalis Okoroafor, who came with his entourage that are APGA chieftains, commended the ASMATA PG, Chief Anuna, (Onwa), for hosting them in his house at Oraeri adding that the ASMATA boss has done a lot to Oraeri APGA, from ward to state level.
He assured him of being reciprocated for all he has done to Oraeri APGA and urged him not to relent in his good work to both his Oraeri community and the entire state even as he advised the newly inaugurated APGA executives led by Ide Festus Onyeanusi Alokwem, to abide by their oath of office.
His words, “What we have now is ‘Operation collapse all the polling structures in the state in favour of Soludo.”
In his post inauguration speech, the new Oraeri ward chairman, Ide Festus Onyeanusi Alokwem, stated that, “Today five people from other parties have decamped to APGA and among them is Comrade Ekene Oraekwe, a former Youth Leader, Aguata Local Government Area, who decamped to APC and Former APC chairman also decamped to APGA.
“About 20 people are bagging me that they want to join APGA but I told them to wait that they would be accepted in our next meeting,” he disclosed.
He attributed the zeal by scores of politicians to decamp to APGA, to the good work Governor Charles Soludo is doing in the state especially on roads adding that his good work will speak for him come the 2025 gubernatorial election.
“Onwa, ASMATA PG, is doing a lot of things for people of oraeri, he took a lot of our sons that are not doing anything out of oraeri to hustle and all of them are doing well in business.
“We complained to Ones about our bad roads and he pledged to talk to Governor Soludo concerning the roads in Oraeri,” he stated.
Also contributing, a chieftain of the party and one of the conveners of support group for Solution, Soludo, Barr. (Mrs.) Amaka Obiajunwa, described the inauguration as very successful adding that the turn up of party faithful was impressive.
On the ASMATA PG, (Onwa), she stated that as the name implies, that he is a special specie, son of the soil and one of the stakeholders in APGA, even as she commended Governor Soludo for his rapid infrastructural development of the state.
“Soludo is doing marvelously well and that is why my group and I are supporting him for second tenure. I am mobilizing people for Soludo’s second tenure. All these good road networks he is doing and donation of computers to head teachers shows his love for the people.
“When you do good things people will support you. At Akpaka he has done the road that is major problem there and people are happy with him.” She stated.
Also reacting, former counsellor and immediate past chairman of Oraeri ward, Hon. Arinze Andy Ikpegbu, stated that he came to support grassroot politics in Oraeri and assured that Soludo’s second tenure is assured.
His words, “I came to support grassroot politics and to tell them that Soludo’s second tenure is consolidating going by massive works he is doing in Anambra.”
Earlier in his speech, the host, Chief Humphrey Anuna, ASMATA PG, said that his aim for hosting them was to tell them that where he belongs to, APGA, is a party for the people adding that all have seen what the governor has done in just two years.
“The Governor is God-sent to better the living condition of the people in the state. His achievements will speak for him in the coming governorship election. He has touched all aspects of human life.
“A vote for Soludo is a vote for human capital and infrastructural development in the state. All the traders are working to ensure he comes back to complete his work,” he stated.
Highlight of the event was presentation of new party register and cards to the new chairman by the APGA Local Government party chairman.
