2025 Guber Race: Why Anambra Voters Should Trust my One-Term Promise

Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2021 governorship election of Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo has declared his intention to run for the 2025 gubernatorial election

He however promised to serve only one year in office if elected to complete the zoning arrangement which favours the Anambra South Senatorial District where he and the incumbent hail from.

Addressing newsmen in Awka, Ozigbo said he was ready to take oath of agreement to authenticate the one term promise.

He said although politicians were fond of reneging from such promises, his would
in office if elected in 2025 as the governor of Anambra State.

He described himself as respecter of zoning arrangement, but insisted zoning must be combined with competent.

He said, “I’m a respecter of zoning. But it must be combined with competent. That sense of balance is critical.

“Donโ€™t pick a renegade just because he is from a certain zone, and donโ€™t pick him, when you know you can pick one that is better.

“Four years single term is enough to make impact. Governor Alex Otti of Abia State is a classical example in his less than one year. As someone with strong moral character without being immodest, I’ll keep to one term. I’m ready to put it in agreement.

“I’m also thankful that our leader, Peter Obi has been consistently preaching that a southerner who emerges will only do one term. I’ll keep faith with that arrangement. If I betray that trust, there is consequences.

โ€œI will not need anyoneโ€™s push or prompting to do otherwise. I will be ready to do an agreement and do an undertaking that I will do just one term.

Ozigbo, a former President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria PLC (Transcorp) explained that he had always left the stage when ovation was loud.

He listed instances of previous antecedents, including his years in the banking industry.
