Hoodlums Invade Vigilante Office, Set Van, Vigilante Vehicle Ablaze in Anambra

A middle-aged man was on Thursday set ablaze by hoodlums in Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra state.

The deceased was in a vehicle belonging to Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) operatives when he was set on fire together with the vehicle by the hoodlums who invaded the AVG office around 7am in their large numbers.

The incident was also corroborated by a viral video showing the burning vehicle with a voice calling for the state fire service.

The details of the development were still sketchy while the reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained at press time.

When contacted on the telephone, Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed that the attack took place, but said the full details were not available yet at his disposal.

“Yes, the attack took place but the full details are not available yet, our men are on the scene to bring normalcy to the area. I will call you back please,” he added.
