The Senate on Tuesday suspended Senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi Central Senatorial District for three months.

The suspension, prompted by allegations of padding the 2024 Budget, resulted from a motion moved by Jimoh Ibrahim, a member of the Appropriation Committee.

The motion initially proposed a 12-month suspension for criminal misinformation and breach of peace.

However, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong from Cross River South Senatorial District successfully amended the motion, advocating for a reduced three-month suspension during a stormy session in the red chamber. (Source: Channels TV)
