Spelling Bee Competition: Anambra Commissioner Hails Pupils for Honoring Parents while Receiving Prizes

Winners of the 2023 Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh Spelling Bee competition have received their prizes from Anambra State Commissioner for Education.

Master Delight Okeke and Miss Lois Igube of Holy Ghost International Primary School Awka took the First and Third positions respectively, during the event in Awka.

Addressing the pupils before handing over the prizes, Education Commissioner, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh commended the pupils for making themselves available to honor their parents and deciding to be useful to themselves by acquiring education.

She said her presence in their school was for them to realize the gain in acquiring education which provides attitude that makes the difference between an educated and non educated.

She enjoined the pupils to always find time to appreciate their parents for their efforts at training them.

While commending the school for preparing these children, Chuma-Udeh appreciated the proprietor for working in tandem with nature to promote humanity.

She stated that the impact of choosing the part of training the leaders of tomorrow, would be felt more as she retires to old age.

Chuma-Udeh reminded the teachers of their choice of a vocation from lineage of the great teacher Jesus Christ and the need for them to observe the order of the master, to be wonderful in what they are doing.

In her speech, Proprietor of Holy Ghost International Primary School Awka, Mrs. Ubosi-Okeke Kenechukwu applauded Commissioner Chuma-Udeh for her activities in turning the education sector of the State around.

She thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for placing this round peg in the round hole.

The parents of the school’s torch bearers who spoke through Mrs. Okeke and Mrs Igube, eulogized the Commissioner for translating .Soludo’s education agenda into concrete reality.

Highpoint of the occasion was the handover of the prizes to the pupils by the Commissioner.
