Obi Tasks Anambra Journalists on Upholding Professionalism

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has commended media practitioners in the country for their unrelenting efforts in discharging their responsibilities.

He also applauded them for always upholding professional ethics which have largely contributed in deepening nation’s democracy.

Obi made the commendation in Awka while addressing members of Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.

The former governor of Anambra State who was represented by his media aide, Mr Val Obienyem challenged the journalists not to relent in playing their roles despite all odds especially in such trying times.

He recalled the support he received from members of the chapel, and other journalists in the state during his tenure as the governor of the state, pledging continuous support for the media in the state.

Responding, Correspondents Chapel Chairman, Chief Chuks Ilozue, commended the LP national leader for his demonstrable commitment in the affairs of his members and journalists in the state.

He praised the cordial working relationship existing between his members and the Obi government, assuring sustenance of that cordiality.

Amongst the highlights of the meeting were strategic decisions on how to go about reporting the state responsibly, especially as the 2025 governorship election in the state approaches.
