Lawmaker representing Awka South I State Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Nigeria Henry Mbachu has described Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi as a man who represents the yearnings and aspirations of every Nigerian.
He also referred to the former governor of Anambra State as a leader capable of navigating the country from its present condition to a prosperous path.
Mbachu made the remarks in his congratulatory message to Obi on his recognition as the Political Icon of the Year 2023 by the Sun Awards.
He urged him to remain unwavering in his push to see that Nigeria was liberated from bad governance and created the envisioned New Nigeria.
The statement reads, “I congratulate Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, CON (Okwute), on his recognition as the Political Icon of the Year 2023 by the Sun Awards.
“The Sun Awards is a prestigious media honour that celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to various fields of endeavour in Nigeria. Mr. Obi, the leader and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, was bestowed with the award at a ceremony in Lagos on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
“The award is meritorious and well-deserved because Mr. Obi in the last general election changed the political trajectory of Nigeria since the return of democracy 25 years ago.
“Mr. Obi visibly represents the yearnings and aspirations of every Nigerian and can navigate the country from its present condition to a prosperous path.
“I implore Mr. Obi to remain unwavering in his push to see that Nigeria breaks free from bad governance and creates the envisioned New Nigeria.
