NYSC Assures Corps Members of Anambra Camp’s Readiness for Orientation

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State has said all is set at Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area of the state to receive the 2024 Batch A stream 1 prospective corps members deployed to the state for their national service.

State Coordinator, Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma who dropped the hint in an interview with our correspondent said part of the preparations to receive the prospective corps members included comprehensive fumigation of the camp.

She explained that the fumigation of the camp was carried out in two segments.

“The first segment, chemicals meant for the elimination of insects and microbes that might cause infection were used; while the second segment, chemicals targeted at rodents and reptiles were sprayed on every part of the camp,” she said.

Iruma listed other actions taken preparatory to the commencement of the orientation course to include: mowing of grass, scrubbing the hostels and camp officials’ quarters, arrangement of beds and mattresses, as well as, testing the serviced generating sets for pumbing water and supply of light.

“All these measures are targeted at warmly welcoming the prospective corps members to ensure they quickly relax in a congenial atmosphere on arrival,” she added.

The NYSC boss used the opportunity to inform the prospective corps members deployed to the state that the good people of Anambra and indeed NYSC management, staff and serving corps members were eagerly waiting for their arrival to the state, popularly known as the light of the nation.
