Okoye Joins Governor Soludo’s Media Team as Executive Assistant, Media, Office of Chief Press Secretary

The Managing Editor, multichannels newspapers, Romanus Okoye, has joined Governor Charles Soludo’s media team as an Executive Assistant, media, office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

Okoye, amongst other responsibilities, will be coordinating media reports from the 21 LGAs of Anambra State.

Before the appointment, Okoye worked with Switch Advertising Agency Limited, Kingsland Robinson Skills Limited and Pace Printing Press Limited, all in Lagos, Nigeria as a graphic artist.

In 2004, he joined The Sun Publishing Limited: the publishers of Daily Sun, Saturday Sun, Sunday Sun and Sporting Sun newspapers as a Senior Graphic Artist.

He was later deployed to the Editorial Department as a Judiciary Correspondent. At Ikeja, Lagos State Judiciary Division, he served as the Secretary of the Nigerian Judiciary Correspondents till 2020.

He attended the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos where he made Distinction and emerged the Best Overall Graduating Student in 2014. He is also a law graduate of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

He is the current Secretary General, Umudora Anam Development Union (UDU, worldwide). Earlier in Lagos, he served as the Secretary General, Anam People’s Assembly.

Okoye who holds the chieftaincy title of Ogbuevi Okamalo in Anam, loves reading, writing and public speaking. He is married and blessed with a son.
