Management of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Awka, Anambra State said it has mapped out strategies to assist the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in rekindling public interest in sponsorship of community development projects executed by corps members for the benefit of communities in the state.

General Manager, NTA, Awka, Anambra State, Barr. Stella Ezenachukwu made the disclosure while hosting State Coordinator, NYSC, Anambra State, Mrs Blessing Iruma in her office.

She noted that corps members contributions in the growth and development of Nigeria could be overemphasised, promising to expand number of corps members to be posted to the station for their primary assignments.

“In order to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between NTA and the NYSC, we will expand the number of corps members to be posted to do their primary assignment at the station for learning on the job.

“We have also approved half hour slot to showcase NYSC activities in the state. The half hour slot is entirely devoted to NYSC developmental programmes,” she said.

Ezenachukwu thanked the NYSC boss for the visit particularly in accompanying the NYSC Editorial CDS group to do environmental sanitation.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator said she was at the station to solicit for deeper cordial relationship between the two sister federal establishments.

She noted that with more closer relationship, group and individual community development projects that were apparently slowing down would be reinvigorated for the benefit of the masses.

She called on the NTA management to assist in the sensitisation of the public to reinvigorate interest in the sponsorship of community development projects.

She also requested that corps member based programmes be floated at the station for the benefit of the society.
