Anambra Govt to Make CCTV Camera Classrooms Compulsory for Private Schools

Anambra State government says installation of camera has become a condition for approval of any private school in the school.

Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh made the disclosure while addressing management of Living Word Magnet School Awka in her office following report by a parent that a teacher, Mrs Ogidi Oluchukwu manhandled his child in the school.

She said the decision has become necessary for the monitoring of activities in the school.

She directed the removal of the teacher from the class, warning that the school would be shot down if there was any similar report comes from the school.

While warning teachers against beating pupils, the Commissioner said, “any teacher who beats a child has become an enemy to the child, and no lesson from her is to be understood by the child.

“Every child belongs to the State and the State cannot fold it’s hand to watch any person molest the child.”
