Soludo suspends another headteacher over illegal collection

Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has suspended Headteacher of United Primary School Nkpor I in Idemili North local government area of the state over collection of illegal fees.

The Commissioner for Education Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh who made the announcement said the headteacher was suspended for collecting the sum of N6,000 instead of N1900 for registration of Common Entrance Examination.

She said the decision was taken as her actions was against the mandate of Governor Soludo that no extra fees should be paid in primary schools.

“The Headteacher of United Primary School Nkpor I, Mrs Ngozi Okeke has been asked to step as the Headteacher the school for collecting the sum of collecting the sum of N6,000 instead of N1,900 for registration of Common Entrance Examination.

“She has been asked to hand over to the highest ranking teacher in the school,” she said.
