Popular Camerounian televangelist, Prophet Elijah Abiri has come under fire over his false prediction of the 2023 African Cup of Nations clash between Nigeria and Cameroun.

Abiri, who is the General Overseer of the Fire Jam Ministry in Limbe, took to the social blogosphere hours to the epic clash between the Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions to predict the match in favour of his country.

As it turned out, Nigeria beat Cameroun 2-0 in the match played at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.

However, in the viral video, sighted by the AnambraDaily, the controversial cleric had emphatically advised Nigerian team to pack their bags and get ready to fly home as the tie was already settled in the favour of their opponents. Hear him:

“Super Eagles, Please before you play, just pack your bags, it’s over. Cameroon is thrashing Nigeria 3 goals to 1. I will be watching the match live and direct and if… I will add the goals, I will make it like 5 goals.

“This message is not for those that are doing gambling because I will frustrate you any time any seconds, but the fact behind the declaration right now is that Cameroun is winning Nigeria.

“Super Eagles, I love your team so much, I love Nigeria but this is football, this is a game, I want victory for my nation, Cameroun. So, I want all the bloggers to share this, make it go viral.

He spoke further: ” Cameroun is winning the super Eagles by 3-1, that’s the game, that’s the score. So, super Eagles, pack your bags, it’s rather unfortunate that you met the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun at this stage. So, we see again next season. Goodbye, Super Eagles!”
