A business magnate and philanthropist, Dr. Joseph Onuorah has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his socioeconomic giant strides in less than two years in office.
Dr. Onuorah made the observation while speaking to newsmen at his country home, Ndiowu Community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The business mogul commended Governor Soludo for his innovative leadership style which he said has changed the economic landscape of Anambra state positively, despite the harsh economic situation in Nigeria.
He noted that so many policy measures initiated by Governor Soludo geared towards cushioning the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, which not only captured the people in the formal sector, but also covers those in the informal sector have scaled up social security in the state.
He maintained that the free basic education, free antenatal and delivery for mothers, reduction in the payment of taxes and levies, exclusion of petty traders from the payment of taxes and levies, employment of thousands of teachers, as well as the entrepreneurial training and empowerment of five thousand youths with seed money among others, are some of the achievements of the Soludo administration that will remain indelible in the hearts of Ndi Anambra.
Dr. Onuorah therefore appealed to Governor Soludo to include his community in its grassroots infrastructure development drive.
He specifically requested for construction of the Oko-Ndiowu- Ufuma-Akpu-Ajalli road, which he stressed, would change the fortunes of the town.
According to him, the road was first awarded under the late Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju administration and was abandoned, re-awarded again under the immediate past administration in the state, and was able to do some parts of the drainage works.
He lamented that the drainage work is now under the threat of erosion across the entire length of the road, saying that the road if completed by Governor Soludo, will explode the economic fortunes of the agrarian communities in Agbata – Ndiowu, Aboh Ihuana among others as demand will meet sutherebyere by generating economic prosperity.
