NYSC urges corps members to promote culture for national integration

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured corps members of continued provision of platforms to showcase their different rich culture targeted at fostering national integration.

Anambra State Coordinator, Mrs Blessing Iruma stated this during the 2023 Batch ‘C’ (Stream II) cultural carnival held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area of the State.

She said the event is targeted at bringing corps members together to showcase their different rich culture, which if maintained would foster national integration.

She said, “The cultural carnival offers corps members opportunities to appreciate the beauty, gains and strength of the nation with diversity.

“Our country is united by our shared values, history and aspirations. It is by enhancing and celebrating our cultural differences that we reinforce the bonds that hold us together as one nation.

“Our nation is blessed with an array of ethnic groups, each with its unique traditions, languages, dances, music and cuisines.

“It is through initiatives like the interpolation cultural carnival that we can showcase these beautiful aspects of our heritage and appreciate the richness it brings to our society”

Earlier, Organising Committee Chairman, Lady Doris Eronsi noted that the event had come to stay as a way to depict the various cultures across the nation with skills, creativity and dexterity.

The carnival which commenced with procession by platoons in their different attires led by State Coordinator and other officials also featured sack and egg race, fill in the cans competition as well as other performances.
